Model Your Revenue Opportunity
Use the scenarios below or enter your own numbers. Every input is adjustable. Every assumption is documented. Destination ash scattering creates a new revenue line from families who currently walk out without purchasing any memorialization product.
Phase 1
~11% of network activated
500 homes, 200 cases/home
5% attach rate, 70 reps
Phase 2
~33% of network activated

10% attach rate, 70 reps
Phase 3
~78% of network activated
3,500 homes, 200 cases/home
15% attach rate, 70 reps
Pricing & Revenue Split
Set the retail price per scattering, then adjust the percentage each partner receives. Move any percentage slider, the others rebalance automatically so the split always equals 100%. Dollar amounts update live based on the retail price.

What this means: At these numbers, each participating funeral home adds one Bonaventure family roughly once a month. That is a manageable, believable volume that does not strain any part of the operation.
Our Assumptions (and Where They Come From)
Cremation Rate
61.9% nationally (2023)
Source: NFDA 2023 Cremation and Burial Report. Projected to reach 82% by 2045. This is not a forecast. It is the current baseline. The cremation rate in many Western and coastal states already exceeds 75%.
Families Who Leave Empty-Handed
~60% purchase no memorialization
Industry-reported figure across multiple funeral home operators. These families complete the cremation but do not purchase an urn, niche, keepsake, or any other memorialization product. They are not opposed to memorializing. They simply do not connect with the options available.
Pricing Model
Three-way revenue share
The retail price per scattering (default $1,200, fully adjustable from $300 to $1,500) is shared three ways between Bonaventure, DIG, and the partner funeral home. The default split allocates 60% to Bonaventure for fulfillment, 20% to DIG for sales and account management, and 20% to the funeral home for the family conversation. Splits are negotiable per partnership and modeled live above.
Attach Rate Range
1% to 15% (slider range)
There is no established industry benchmark for destination scattering because Bonaventure is the first service of its kind at this scale. For comparison, pet memorialization products (a newer category with similar emotional dynamics) typically see 5-15% attach rates once funeral home staff become comfortable presenting the option. Attach rate improves meaningfully with staff familiarity and comfort level. Phase 1 models a 5% attach rate, which reflects early adoption. Phase 3 models 15%, which reflects a mature, trained network.
Cases Per Home
~200 cremation cases / year
Based on NFDA averages for total cases per funeral home, adjusted for the current national cremation rate. Your actual number will vary by home. High-volume metro locations may exceed 400. Rural locations may be closer to 80-120. The input is fully adjustable.
Operational Capacity
Scalable fulfillment model
Bonaventure fulfills with trained regional scattering teams operating under documented SOPs across four destination categories. Each team member can handle multiple scatterings per week. Capacity scales with team expansion, not with physical infrastructure. There is no facility, no equipment, and no capital buildout required to grow.
A note on these projections: The three phases reflect a realistic adoption curve. Phase 1 assumes a focused launch with a portion of the network. Phase 2 reflects broader rollout with improving attach rates as funeral directors gain experience presenting the option. Phase 3 reflects a mature partnership where most of the network is active and comfortable with the product. Every input is adjustable. We encourage you to model your own assumptions.
